This is something that has been heavy on my heart lately. When the world seems against you, sometimes we feel the easiest course of action is to hide rather than being condemned by our opposers. But then I remember Jesus, when Judas betrayed Him in the Garden of Gethsemane. He knew He would be betrayed and arrested prior to the event, yet he stood unwaveringly in His faith.

I used to think that avoiding social media and news outlets was the proper response to the evil happenings of the world. Out of sight out of mind, right? But I’ve realized that evil has no problem showing itself. It has no problem running full steam ahead not caring who it may offend along the way. To my fellow Christ followers, it is time to take action. We must stop cowering to the world for fear of being ridiculed. It isn’t enough to just claim to be a Christian, we must be WITNESSES. Our opposers are not ashamed nor afraid to put their beliefs into action. The world is coming against Christ and His followers daily, and it is our job as warriors who serve in the army of God to defend Him and His word.

We are to be disciples, not just servants. It’s not just the preachers job to spread the gospel. It’s not just the missionaries job to spread the gospel. If you are saved, you can witness. We cannot continue to turn the other cheek to sin for fear of the opposer. Jesus was ridiculed and mocked, still He preached. We must follow suit.

This certainly doesn’t mean that we attack those who disagree, or make them feel condemned. We should instead approach them with the same Christ-like love that He shows us daily. The same love Jesus showed Judas even though He knew what was to come. We can disagree with someone without belittling them. Let us offer truth through God’s word and try with all of our might to put our words into action. Let us not only use our voice, but our hands. Let us find a way to not just share an opinion, but to physically help meet the need.

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:58
